In a heartbreaking incident in Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh, a house collapsed due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving her husband severely injured. This information was confirmed by a police official.
According to Abhishek Singh, the area officer of Kaushambi, the incident occurred in the village of Ramadhin Ka Purwa, located in the western region of the Sharira police station. The house, which was made of mud, fell unexpectedly due to moisture accumulation caused by the rain.
The officer reported that both Indralal and his wife, Sumiya Devi (52), were trapped under the debris of the collapsed structure. Upon receiving the alert, police arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of local residents, managed to rescue both individuals from the rubble.
Unfortunately, Sumiya Devi was pronounced dead at the scene, while Indralal sustained serious injuries. He was subsequently admitted to the district hospital for medical treatment. The police also mentioned that Sumiya Devi's body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
